A BRIEF INVESTIGATION ON TURKISH MUSEOLOGY AND ACTUAL EXPOSITION TECHNOLOGIES
In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of museums and registered collection objects of the relevant ministry of Turkey. Along with this increase, cultural events on museology such as workshops, seminars and conversation sessions have gained momentum. During such events, intriguing topics are come to the fore in sessions where Turkish museums and compared to Western museums. One of these topics is to discuss whether Turkish museology has adapted to various technologies of this age.
This book is designed to investigate the topic on the basis of museums exposition works. The first chapter of the book describes the historical development of museology studies in the country. The second chapter sheds light on recent initiatives and presents various exposition technologies from sample museums. Including visuals and their short descriptions, this chapter is followed by a general evaluation. In this evaluation conducted under the title of conclusion, the current situation of Turkish museums and the technologies they use are reviewed.
